Clearly this was produced in the USA, & it was a pleasure to be able to put something together without having to interpret the instructions. They were clear, concise, & so helpful, you just can not err. I was a little concerned about the composite wood, but the finish looks very nice with a rustic, country look. When the package arrived, although the packaging was very good, there was a crack on one corner of the bottom piece. Sauder was great about sending a replacement part in 4 days time. I love the look of Sauders furniture, not too country, just a little rustic, with great lines & hardware. I am looking forward to ordering more pieces. I actually used the top shelf for my DVD player, & placed a small fireplace insert ( not with heater, just the light & logs) in the bottom center area. Looks good!
If you have many AV components and think that most corner TV stands do not offer adequate storage space, you could always consider a standard TV stand which has tapered corners. Much like the ones highlighted on this page.
Use a stud finder to locate the studs in the corner where the TV will be installed.
The directions are straight forward and very simple to follow. I did this in about an hour by myself while watching a movie at the same time. The pictures I took shows the finished unit before I put the adjustable shelves in place., and after they were placed. We looked for over a week to find the right unit, and kept coming back to this one based upon appearance and size. Very happy with this purchase.
This piece was straightforward to assemble, and looks terrific, though there is a couple of places where it is easy to put the wrong part in the wrong place. In particular, I installed the doors on the wrong sides and upside down. This meant the handles were in the right place, but the break in the edge banding is visible on top of the doors when they are open, and I had to drill new holes to hold the metal to which the magnetic door closures stick. (Unfortunately I could not correct the error by removing and re-placing the doors due to the design of the hinge - It springs into place into a hole, which makes it a one-way operation.) That mistake was on me, which is why I gave the unit five stars for being otherwise terrific for the price. Note: One non-standard thing that I did during assembly was to glue everything together with wood glue. It is solid as a rock as a result, but I do not know to what degree that made it better than it otherwise would be.
Be sure that the corner wall-mount bracket and hardware are sufficiently rated to hold your particular television. A flat-screen TV set weighing more than 125 pounds should be mounted with a dual-arm bracket. Smaller sets can be wall-mounted using a single-arm bracket.
